In the 80’s Jeff worked in the Art and Design Department of theCollegeofSt Pauland St Mary and later at theUniversityofGloucestershire(Pittville in the 90’s) in the Ceramics Department, as a result of this he is quite widely known.
A number of people associated with the arts inCheltenhamwho frequent the gallery have mentioned how much he had helped them, in real practical ways. Some had suggested that he was now inCornwallpainting and that I should contact him
I only know Jeff in the context of Cornwall, he now lives in Pendeen on the North of the PenwithPeninsula, just further on from St Just in the direction of St Ives. He loves to draw and paint and is producing really good work.
He keeps himself to himself, does not blow his own trumpet, but is always willing to help others. He goes to life class every week, and finds his inspiration in the tell tale scars of the Tin mining industry which surround him in that part of North Cornwall
Whenever I ask him whether he has been to see this gallery or that (about his work) he turns to me and says “ You know me Ian, I just want to draw/paint”
This third show in the 2013 format runs together with a permanent but constantly changing selection of works, some favourites and others totally new to Martin’s. Supporting cast includes Jeremy Annear, Fred Cuming, Bernard Dunstan, Sir William Russell Flint, Mila Furstova, Ray Hedger, Ken Howard, among others.
